Our Story

Split Six Productions began in 2012 with the creative work of Imani Sims and a goal to bring an LGBTQIA+ collective of writers’ first chapbooks to Seattle with a showcase. Muck was born and that event launched the event production services of Split Six Productions. Later, Imani partnered with Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas to create Kitchen Sessions—a show that focused on bringing black artists into museum spaces to respond to rotating visual arts installations at both Seattle Arts Museum and Bellevue Arts Museum. Currently, Split Six Productions continues our commitment to partnering with communities to shape the collective narrative.

Our Mission

Use the arts as a vehicle for dreaming ourselves into the future.

Our Vision

A world where everyone has access to transformative arts experiences to shape our future narrative.

Our Values

Imagine: We believe that communities have the collective power to imagine themselves into the future through immersive arts experiences.

Immerse: We believe that immersive experiences create opportunities for communities to connect, imagine, and integrate their dreams for the future.

Integrate: We believe that integration is the process of creation, evaluation, and iteration. Every step is an opportunity to learn from the process and one another.

Imani Sims is an alchemist.

Over the past two decades Imani has collaborated with community organizations and independent artists to deliver immersive experiences all over the nation.

Imani believes in the the power of community ritual and performance art, in public space, to shift social narratives. It is Imani’s goal to immerse communities in experiences centering art and ritual by providing folks of color with platforms for their work to inspire community dialogue and transformation.
